What To Expect

The people that make up New Life UPC come from all walks of life, and we have three main things in common: we love our God, we love our church, and we love our community.  At our church you will meet a smiling face and a community of believers who live out our faith in real and relevant ways by continually striving to know Him more.  In every service, we are going to present the hope and healing found in Jesus through knowing Him in a new and personal way.

We reserve several visitor parking spaces identified with signs for your convenience,  so please feel free to take advantage of them—they’re close to the side entrance! If you need any assistance there will be a parking attendant to help you.

When You Arrive

When you first arrive, you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly volunteers. They’ll guide and direct you, and if it’s your first time to visit they’ll ask you to fill out a brief visitor’s card so we can have a record of your attendance. We really are glad when someone takes the time to visit, and our pastor would like to send you a letter thanking you for attending New Life.

At New Life you’ll experience:

▪ A comfortable, welcoming atmosphere

▪ Friendly, encouraging people

▪ Incredible, passionate worship

▪ Relevant, Bible-based teaching

▪ Programs for all ages, from birth to our precious elders

▪ Other people just like you . . .

Our Services

Our  Wednesday worship and Bible studies normally last around an hour and a half. We are conscious of early risers for school and work, so we’re usually wrapped up between 8:30 & 9:00 pm.

Our services are filled with vibrant worship. We clap and lift our hands, sing aloud, and offer heartfelt expressions of worship. Please feel free to worship God in ways you’re comfortable with. If you’d like to read some verses from the Bible that describe the way we worship look below at the section entitled "In service you'll experience".

If you need assistance at any time during the service, please talk with one of our usher/greeters located at the entrance of the sanctuary.

Our nursery is available during our services for children up to 2 years old. The nursery is located in the fellowship hall. One of the ushers or greeters will be happy to direct you to it.

If an older child needs to be taken out of a service, you (or an adult relative/friend who has parental permission) may take the child to the fellowship hall or foyer and supervise them there.

On Wednesdays, we offer educational classes for all ages, from nursery, preschool and elementary kids to middle and high school students and adults.

What to Wear

Many people aren’t sure what to wear when they visit. We want you to be comfortable when you visit, so wear what you’re comfortable wearing. When you’re at one of our services, you’ll see a range of styles from jeans to suits. Casual or “Sunday best” . . . it doesn’t matter.

In-Service Experience

John 4:23-24 says, " But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

We pray together out loud because the Bible says, ". . . they lifted up their voice to God with one accord. . ." (Acts 2:24)
We testify publicly because the Bible says, "I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee." (Psalms 22:22)
We sing with all our hearts because the Bible says, "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praises." (Psalms 98:4)
We lift our hands in praise because the Bible says, "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord." (Psalms 134:2)
We play musical instruments because the Bible says, ". . .all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments. . ." (2 Samuel 6:5)
We clap and shout unto God because the Bible says, ". . .O clap your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph." (Psalms 47:1)
We dance in the spirit because the Bible says, "Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with the stringed instruments and organs." (Psalms 150:4)
We anoint with oil for divine healing because the Bible says, "Is any sick among you?  Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up. . ." (James 5:14-15)
We allow the operation of spiritual gifts because the Bible says, "Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church . . . covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues." (1 Corinthians 14:12, 39)
